All new Kindergarteners are invited to KinderCamp 2008, to meet their teacher, Mrs. Katie Bidwell, play games and learn about their new school. It all happens on August 22, Friday, from 9am to 11am at Big Valley Primary in Adin. In addition to all the fun, each child will receive a backpack full of supplies for school. Parents are welcome to stay for the fun.
Coming to Bieber on August 28 from 10:30am to noon, the Lassen Superior Court has a new Mobile Access Center that will be parked at the Memorial Hall once a month to help local residents with paying fines, mediation services or legal help. Assistance will be available in English and Spanish. Stop by BVCA for a monthly schedule.
The Big Valley Swimming Pool is h0lding its first annual Rummage Sale for 3 Days at the Bieber Memorial Hall from 9am to 5pm. We need donated items in working order and clothing in clean and usable condition. Drop donated items off at the Pool. Other donation ideas: books, tools, baby items and furniture. A Walking Group has come together for the summer in Bieber. Anyone who is interested can meet at the Memorial Building Parking Lot on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10am for a one to five mile walk. Bring what you need ~ water, bug spray, sunscreen, etc. Parents!! On Tuesdays and Thursdays drop the kids off at the Bieber Library for Early Literacy Fun while you take your walk.

Plan on meeting at BV High School on Saturday, August 9, from 8:30am to 2pm for a Community Work Day to help sand, scrape and put a new coat of paint on everything from picnic tables to basketball hoops! Lunch is provided!
The Big Valley Men’s Fellowship meets the third Saturday of each month at the Cardinal Corner in Bieber. Meetings are held from 8:00am to 9:00am. The next meeting will be Saturday, August 16.
The 4th Annual Autumn Marketplace is being planned for the 3rd Saturday in October. This is the annual fundraiser for Big Valley Community Alliance, the local non profit providing direct services to Lassen county and Modoc county residents of Big Valley. Big Valley Health Center is planning a Health Fair on August 13 from 10am to 2pm. Stop by for Immunization screening, Blood Pressure checks, BMI for all ages, Oral Health screening, Blood draws at a reduced rate and many other services and information booths. There will also be a Health Fair at Burney Health Center on August 11 and at Fall River Valley Health Center on August 12.

Childbirth Education and Breastfeeding, Bonding and Newborn Care Classes will be offered by Shasta County Public Health and Bright Futures on August 8, 9, and 12 and again on October 10, 11 and 14. Classes are held at Mayers Memorial Resource Building in Fall River Valley across the highway from the hospital.
