It was originally reported in Big Valley News that a death at the Ranchetts at Lookout was the result of a heavy equipment accident. This is not true.
The original item in Big Valley News was based on radio traffic which dispatched medical and rescue crews to 385 Ponderosa Dr. in Lookout to the scene of a possible death due to a heavy equipment accident.
When crews were on the way to the scene, believing it involved heavy equipment, jaws of life were requested for possible extrication, but when the first unit arrived to evaluate the scene, they canceled extra help and equipment and called for a coroner.
Very little about details is said on the radio, and it was learned later that Steve Standart did die at the scene of unreported causes.
A funeral will be held in Adin at the cemetary at 2PM April 7
Big Valley News apologises for a mispelling of Mr. Standart's name in previous editions.
