SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!

50+ offers  Senior Meals on Mondays starting Monday October 10, 2005

Beginning on Monday Oct 10, 2005  at Noon, at the  Bieber Veterans Memorial Building, the Big Valley 50+ Club have made arrangements to serve a catered meal for Seniors. The meal went so well when we filled in last month, that we voted to continue on Mondays. Thus fulfilling our desire to have Senior meals three days a week. There will be a suggested donation of 2.50 or what you can afford.

This is to be in addition to the Wed. and Fri. meals served by Lassen Senior Services, not in competition with their program.  If it reduces their number of meals served or in any way hurts their program, we will discontinue the Monday meals. There is no way that 50+ can offer you all the services that Lassen Senior Services is providing and we are only trying to help meet the Senior needs for another meal day.  Please continue to participate in the Wed. Fri. meals and bus program, our Valley needs their services.

IMPORTANT!  MUST CALL FOR MONDAY'S MEAL

Because the Monday meals are catered, we will need to have your reservation Sunday night. If you order a meal, please honor your reservation, as we will have to pay for it.  Walk-ins are discouraged. For reservations, call 294-5592, and leave it on the recorder if no one answers.

Have requested, from Susanville, bus service for Mon They have agreed, but the rate they will charge is beyond our capabilities at this time.  Please if you can, offer someone a ride. And if you car pool, share the expenses. We all have trouble making ends meet.

See you Monday!

Just a reminder.  Scams and bugs are spreading badly this month.  Don’t give out your SS # or Credit card numbers to anyone who contacts you asking for them.
If they claim to be the bank or SS office, they already have your #s.  If you are told you won something, but have to send $ to receive it, IT IS A SCAM.

Please everyone remember to wash your hands every time you are in contact with surfaces that have been touched by the public.  The flu is reported to be spreading in Calif and Ore

Quote of the month  The thing that effects everyone is the weather, that’s why it is usually a part of most conversations. Stay warm and dry, spring is coming.(eventually)!
I have it on good authority that the club will need a good secretary next year, be looking for someone!  Okay?

All errors and omissions are the blunders of Marie Roberts.
