Ever wonder why Highway 299 in Bieber is so clean. One of the reasons is that the Big Valley Lions Club has adopted 5 miles of highway near Bieber and the Red Barn, that's 10 miles of roadside.

CalTrans supplies the Lions with equipment such as safety vests, pickup tongs and sacks. The Lions do the cleanup and leave the sacks in a central location for removal.

This year 7 Lions gathered 10 full bags of trash.
