Foosas Team makes a shot against Mambas

The Big Valley Lions Club sponsored a mini basketball tournament at the School Gym in Bieber. The Lions have been sponsoring these games for 4th thtough 6th graders for many years. Parents of the kids playing participated years back and now get to watch their children play.

Each of the teams got to choose their team names and they were coached by Big Valley High School basketball players. These youngsters have only been playing for a few weeks but they still managed to perform a good and exciting game. They were not clumsy, showed great spirit and managed to get some good scores. A highlight of the series was during the 4th game when Brock Putnam of the Icemen team scored a

2 point basket just as the buzzer rang, then scored another 2 points to tie the game with the Leprechauns 25 to 25.

The games started at about 10:30 AM and lasted till about 4:00 PM with most of the crowd still there at the end. It was a good series.
