Sept 1 through Sept 30, 2005

During the month of September, every Susanville and Lassen County household is entitled to free disposal of a single load of non-hazardous waste at Bass Hill Landfill or Westwood Landfill or at any of the eight transfer stations in Lassen County.

A free load is up to 5 cubic yards of uncompacted solid waste. Wastes which are acceptable for free disposal include: Household Waste, Green Waste, Wood Waste, Yard Waste, and Construction & Demolition Waste, and up to four (4) automobile or light truck tires.

Items that do not apply to this event are:  Business wastes, auto bodies, more than four tires, CRT's (televisions and computer monitors), refrigerators, household hazardous wastes, and liquids.

If your load exceeds five (5) cubic yards or more than four (4) tires, the regular rates will apply to the excess.

To get free disposal, you must bring proof of residency.  Acceptable proof of residency is a driver's license stating a residence address, and/or confirming bills such as a tax bill, or other utility bill(s) verifying a Susanville or Lassen County address (P.O. Boxes are not acceptable).

Gate attendants will verify residency when you bring your waste to the site.
