The theme for this year was wheelbarrows, and although there were decorated wheelbarrows throughout town, only one wheelbarrow showed up in the parade.
Jeremiah St. John from Lookout got to drive a real tractor on city streets. It's a nice 1948 Farmall tractor.
Tom Rucker and Susan Walker from Adin came with this nicely decorated covered wagon. That's Savanna Woods from Santa Rosa riding Bell in front.
These fine fellows can be seen around Lookout. They are Buddy and Merlin. From a distance they look like sheep. Today they joined the parade with their owner Norm Carpadus from Lookout. Norm is the taller one in white.
Glen Zane and his daughter Trudy drove from Redding to participate in the parade. Glen is the owner, operator and investor in the Big Valley Power plant in Bieber. He often comes to the area to participate in events.
Alen an June Johnson from Adin brought this fine yellow 1948 Plymouth convertable to the parade.
Looks like the Okies actually made it. It probably gets better gas milage than a big 4 wheel drive pickup!
Paul Young of Adin shows off his new car. It's a 1922 Model T Ford.
Bruce Mix gets to lead the posse for the last time since his retirement. He is followed by the Sheriff's posse which helps in search and rescue tasks.
The Providence 4H club is the 4H club out of Adin. Here they are with green 4H hats.
Our local VFW shows up at funerals. This was a happy occasion for them for a change.
Globianne Weigand and Dan Collis from local radio staions KCFJ and KCNO did live coverage of the parade.
We had our own announcer over a public address system, Sam Clark from Big Valley.
Willy Shepard from outside of Lookout is a Big Valley icon. He's the fellow who has the annual tractor and old machinery show at his ranch outside of Lookout. Today he drives this old Case tractor.
Newly formed Cub Scout troop for Big Valley had to show off and let people know there now is a Cub Scout Troop in town.
The 50 plus club of Big Valley paraded it's 3 man wheelbarrow. The 50 plus club sponsors senior meals and services for all Big Valley residents and also offere low cost medic alert phone dialers for real low prices.
