Modoc National Forest April 2007 Snow Pack

It's been a very dry year as we have noticed and the local Snow Pack measurements are in. The average reported is a long term (50 years) average of water content.

Snow surveys were completed last week. The Adin Mountain snow survey was completed on Mar. 27; the Blue Lake Ranch and Cedar Pass snow surveys were completed Mar. 28. Results are:

• Adin Mtn.: Snow depth - 20"; average is 33.4". Water content - 6"; average is 12.7".
• Blue Lake Ranch: Snow depth - 8.2"; average is 27.4". Water content -1.2"; average is 9.9".
• Cedar Pass: Snow depth - 24"; average is 44". Water content - 6.6"; average is 16.5".
