The 6th and 7th grade classes from Big Valley Middle School walked around Bieber Wednesday singing Christmas Carols. After their tour of the streets of Bieber, they showed up as surprise guests at the Senior Lunch program at Bieber Memorial hall. Seniors had an extra desert listening to the well tuned youngsters singing "We Wish You a Merry Christmas", "Jingle Bells" and
a few other seasonly songs. The senior lunch program is sponsored by Lassen Senior Services and the Big Valley 50 plus club which provides meals for seniors and also a well deserved social program. It was a nice change to visit with such a group of youngsters who presented their gift of song.
This is the first year of Caroling which was organized by Barb Knight, a teacher at the Middle School. Caroling may become a Bieber tradition given that everyone enjoyed the pre-Christmas surprise. Let's hope it continues.
